True North is a 501c3 Foundation, founded by Greg Parsons, former captain and infantry officer in the United States Marine Corps. The genesis of True North is rooted in Greg’s transition story and the challenges and obstacles he faced as he tried to translate an entrenched military mindset to his post-combat personal and professional journeys.

When Parsons completed his military service, he landed on Wall Street without a roadmap, network, or guidance. He worked at an investment bank where he was dismayed by the absence of a team mindset: “It was all about the “I”, it’s all about fighting for a bonus, and everything was the antithesis of the military mindset, which is all about team, mission, and purpose.”

With the guidance of fellow veterans who taught him how to translate his skillset to the civilian world, Parsons was able to find fulfillment professionally and personally. Understanding that his personal story was not unique, he decided to focus on veteran transition to help the men and women who have served this country transition to civilian life.

True North is the embodiment of a multi-pronged approach aimed at helping veterans and their families successfully navigate the pressures and challenges of transition through employment, physical and emotional rehabilitation, adaptive sports, and education.
